During the Expo, we’re talking to people across the Wellington region who have started on their career pathways. Learn first-hand what it’s like to be doing a range of different roles, directly from people in their early 20s.

First up is Cassie Murphy who has picked what might be considered an unusual career. She’s an Embalmer and Funeral Director, working at Gee & Hickton in Lower Hutt, Wellington. 

James from NZME talks about working in broadcasting, working for The Hits radio station and how he got into the industry and working for NZME, based in Wellington. 

Anna talks about her decision to enter the hospitality industry and how she came into catering. 

Hannah is Events Coordinator for the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce. She shares her work experience leading up to this point and what her Events Coordinator role involves.

Jackson shares his experience of how he got into his role as an accountant and the part-time jobs he had leading up to this point. He shares the training involved and what it’s like working at Kendons Chartered Accountants.

Maddie works in marketing and IT and talks about what it’s like to work in the role and how she got into the career.
